On Monday, September 26, 2011, ADR Systems hosted the First Annual ADR Systems Charity Golf Outing. Over thirty Cook County attorneys and retired judges attended the event, which raised funds toward a donation to the Chicago Bar Foundation.  ADR Systems is proud to support the Chicago Bar Foundation, an organization that works to provide legal services to disadvantaged citizens of Chicago.

Judge Simmons’s services include Mediation, Special Master, Neutral Fact Finder and Mock Trial Judge. He has extensive experience in the resolution of a wide range of disputes, including personal injury, premises liability, professional malpractice, employment discrimination, real estate and construction.

Judge Simmons joins ADR Systems after serving in the Law Division and the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County for a total of 19 years. During his judicial career, he presided over numerous complex trials and achieved over $61 Million in settlements.

ADR Systems congratulates Hon. Donald O’Brien (Ret.) on his recent
settlement of a wrongful death and personal injury case involving a
motor vehicle accident.

The plaintiffs were the families of two pedestrian children who were struck by a motor vehicle, resulting in the death of one child and injuries to the other child. Judge O’Brien skillfully mediated this complex and highly emotional matter, and achieved a settlement of $6,500,000 through non-binding mediation at ADR Systems.

ADR Systems congratulates Hon. Edward Burr (Ret.) on his recent settlement of a personal injury case involving a motor vehicle accident.

The plaintiff was severely injured and it was a difficult case to mediate, with the mediation lasting over seven hours. Through Judge Burr’s skill and expertise, the case was settled, to everyone’s satisfaction, for $3,000,000 through non-binding mediation at ADR Systems

Since retiring from the bench in 2006, Judge Burr has successfully mediated many complex,multi-party disputes, and adjudicated numerous matters in arbitration both as the sole arbitrator and as the third arbitrator in tri-panel situations. ADR Systems congratulates Hon. Daniel J. Kelley (Ret.) for settling a slip & fall case involving a wrist fusion resulting in the plaintiff’s inability to work. The plaintiff entered a work site, tripped over materials in a walkway and fell to the ground, resulting in a complex break.

The case was hotly contested and didn’t settle after two mediation sessions. Using his skills as a mediator Judge Kelley contacted the parties and, after further discussions, convinced both sides to return for a third and final session, during which the parties settled the dispute for $1.5M.

Since retiring from the bench in 2008, Judge Kelley has achieved a notably high settlement rate as a mediator and has successfully mediated many complex, multi-party matters. He has also successfully adjudicated numerous matters in arbitration both as the sole arbitrator and as the third arbitrator in tri-panel situations.

Judge Grogan joins ADR Systems after serving in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County for nearly 20 years. He was one of the most productive jurists produced by the court system, having led the Law Division in total jury verdicts, 2004-2010.
